our foundation
See Better. Learn Better. was born of the enduring community development efforts of Cornerstone Jamaica, whose mission was to connect people and resources to create sustainable programs that improve health and education in Jamaican communities.
Cornerstone Jamaica envisioned a Jamaica where every person has access to quality healthcare and education and where communities thrive through sustainable development. See Better. Learn Better. has become the flagship program under the Cornerstone Jamaica umbrella.
As new leaders take the reins, the mission remains the same — we strive to be a catalyst for positive change, inspiring others to join us in our mission to build a brighter future for Jamaica.
Dei values
Our Commitment to Access and Opportunity: At See Better. Learn Better., we believe every child in Jamaica deserves the chance to see clearly and reach their full potential. Thanks to the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of donors, we’re able to make quality vision care accessible to children across the island—regardless of their background or circumstances.
We celebrate the vibrant diversity of Jamaica and are committed to ensuring that every child and family we serve feels welcomed, respected, and valued. Our mission is rooted in the idea that healthy vision is essential for learning and for building a brighter future.
With your support, we work to break down barriers that prevent children from getting the eye care they need. By partnering with schools, families, and local health professionals, we identify vision challenges early and provide the resources and support that help children thrive in the classroom and beyond.
We also invest in the future of eye health by training local professionals and sharing educational resources with communities. Your involvement—whether through volunteering your time or making a donation—directly contributes to creating lasting, positive change.
We are committed to listening, learning, and growing alongside the communities we serve. Together, we can ensure that every child in Jamaica not only sees better and learns better, but also has the chance to build a more prosperous life.
Thank you for joining us on this journey and for making a real difference in the lives of Jamaican children.
our History
In 2011, a group of individuals came together out of a mutual love for Jamaica and a desire to create lasting change for its citizens. By coordinating with nonprofit organizations, businesses, and friends worldwide, Cornerstone Jamaica supplied clothing, computers, and school supplies to Jamaican communities in need—and that was only the beginning.
Today, we have grown our impact through various initiatives that run concurrently and fulfill our mission of improving health and education in Jamaican communities.

our founder
Mr. Gary Robinson (Ret.)
“A LITTLE OVER 11 YEARS AGO, I HAD A DREAM. TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN A LAND, I DEEPLY LOVE - JAMAICA.”
Cornerstone Jamaica is the embodiment of that dream - to connect people and resources to create sustainable programs that improve health and education in Jamaican communities. Thousands of Jamaicans have benefitted, especially the littlest. We have served our constituents in different ways, always with respect and at the highest possible quality level. We built a family and relationships were forged that will last a lifetime. truly believe I have lived this dream to the fullest and have taken this organization as far as I personally can. I want to pursue something equally important to me - my personal health - and live out my remaining years free from pressure and stress. Jamaica is a tough place to make positive tracks, but, nobody can deny, we have had an impact. It is now time for the next generation to take over, to take us to the next level.”
